How to: Reset a Password

Overview
If a member is unable to log into Firehouse247, users with the appropriate Passwords authority can reset their login credentials. Resetting a password assigns a default password based on the member’s name, and the member will be prompted to create a new one upon login.
Prerequisites

You must have the Passwords authority enabled in your member profile

The member must already have an account in the system
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Navigate to the Members Page

Go to the Members section from the main menu
2. Select the Member

Click on the member’s name to highlight their row
3. Click Reset Password

At the top of the page, click the Reset Password button

A confirmation message will appear
4. Default Password Format
Once reset, the member’s password will be set to:
First initial of their first name + full last name (e.g. JSmith)
Example: For John Smith →
JSmith
What Happens Next

The member will use their username and the default password to log in

Upon login, they will be prompted to create a new, secure password

Remind the member to update their password immediately after logging in

Only users with the Passwords authority can reset other members' passwords

For security, avoid sharing reset passwords through unsecured channels
